YOUTH THURSDAY

In the ?80s a Youth and Sports Arena was built in the 3^rd District, and every Thursday they had the Youth Thursday. It was nice, young people came there, but they didn?t raise hell, as they do now? There was a Culture House in every Bucharest district, but this park was special, with the Arena and the Youth Thursdays and all? And then, on Saturdays and Sundays there was music, but no fighting, nor any heavy drinking either. We didn?t have any discos back then, only Culture Houses, where alcohol was forbidden, and only people of a certain age could go in: neither too young nor too old. Only young people. It went on till 10 or 11 p.m., then they closed. (22)
